Starting Out

Hi! So I found this lovely little photo on the interweb and though I would pop it up here to start things off.

I wanted to give you an insight into me.. Who I am... What I do...

My name is Lauren and currently I am 23 years young.
Now most people take a look at me and go "oh there there's that blonde girl" and tend to label me with the word "ditzy" or "scatty"... They aren't exactly people that know me.

For those that don't know me and don't take me for face value eventually find out my past.

So for those of you that have managed to get this far and have the same opinion about people who judge, you get to know a little more.

When I was younger, about the age of 10, I wanted to be an Osteopath, not a singer or an actress, I didn't think that being rich or famous whas something of merit.

I went to 6th form and took my A Levels, Biology, Chemistry, Psychology and Physical Education.
Least to say, that was EVERYTHING I needed to become an Osteopath.

University costs were too high for me to achieve on my own, so that had to be put on hold. Eventually I may get to my childhood goal.

Due to the lack of funding for University, I went to work. I started at 16 working weekends for a conservatory company. Eventually, once learning how to drive, I started temping. That was great fun.

By the age of 18 I had 2 years worth of work experience, and joined the army.

Not the regulars, but the Territorial's, I loved temping but I also loved the opportunity that the Territorial Army gave me.

I joined as a Combat Medic, part of the Royal Army Medical Corps, attached to an Infantry Unity.
3 years later I was offered a full time position within the unit, looking after recruits, administration and general duties. I LOVED it. No day was ever the same.

By the time I was 20, I had completed my training and I couldn't have been happier, what job could you take your dog to work and have your boss feed him treats?

Then came the news that my position was being made redundant as they had permission for a civil servant. I was devastated. I couldn't stay on part time, it came down to one thing.. Money.

I found a job in London as an administrator. the least medical thing I could think of.
I had the office to myself, working for a Pink Gin company, who shall remain nameless, I had my position for 6 months before it was made redundant, last one in, first one out! Fantastic.

After being made unemployed, I searched high and low, I took the first job I got offered.

A corporate estate agency, working for the lettings team. My manager was fantastic and I loved her so much. She then handed in her notice after two months. I survived another 5 months, when I say survived I quite literally mean survived with the skin of my teeth. I was used to being up a early o'clock and pushing myself to the "limits" however there are limits.

I went job hunting and found a lovely job with an independent firm and have now been here for 7 months.
Not the longest standing job in the world, however the people are fantastic and yes, some are even a little bit nutty!
